Product Development
We feature a highly experienced and accomplished group of scientists who participate in a teamwork-focused environment in the development of your products. Our R&D team has succeeded in developing products from a broad list of categories, including New Chemical Entities, Product Line Extensions, Over-the-Counter, and Generic Drug Products. Our R&D services are supported by a complete line of analytical capabilities in our newly expanded laboratory. Building on our expertise in fluid bed and solid dosage technology, we deliver a complete R&D program including: Analytical Methods Development, Formulation Development, Process Development (Aqueous & Organic Solvent Processing), cGMP Clinical Trial Material Production, Process Scale-Up, and Technology Transfer for Manufacturing.
Drug Delivery Technologies
With a focus on controlled release, Glatt offers new and novel enabling proprietary technologies for both ANDA and NDA products. The Glatt Wurster is our hallmark technology platform, offering a robust and broadly applicable process for modified-release coating of fine particles, pellets, and tablets alike, in addition to the formation of core pellets via drug active layering. Glatt Pharmaceutical Services is widely considered the global industry expert in this important and enabling solid dosage technology.
Our newest innovation is the Glatt CPS Technology Controlled Release Pellet System, offering numerous direct pelletization advantages including:
-ideal core pellet for modified-release and ODT products
-high drug loading (up to ~ 90% active)
-uniformly distributed low doses (down to ~1% active)
-a wide range of mean particle sizes (~ 100 to 1200 µm)
-narrow particle size distribution (eg, up to 95% of target +/- 100 µm)
-dense, spherical, smooth, and uniform pellets
-matrix modified-release pellet capabilities
Contract Manufacturing
Our highly experienced and trained staff provides first-class cGMP manufacturing of both bulk intermediates and final solid dosage form products under the highest levels of quality and efficiency standards in the industry. We maintain a 24/7 schedule to meet the market demands placed on the supply of your products. Our pellet manufacturing capabilities are expanding to further focus on Wurster HS drug layering and functional film coating and direct pelletization using our CPS Technology.
Facility Expansion
In 2007, Glatt Pharmaceutical Services announced the inauguration of our new solid dosage facility in Ramsey, NJ. Our expanded capability concentrates on complex controlled-release R&D and manufacturing, including organic solvent coating capacity, our proprietary CPS pellet system, fluid bed and high shear granulation, and Glatt’s unsurpassed Wurster HS technology.
